This interactive episode designed for family physicians will explore the topic of heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB). Abnormal uterine bleeding creates a significant healthcare burden for women in Canada, with HMB affecting up to 30% of women throughout their reproductive lifetime. HMB may significantly affect a woman’s quality of life, result in time off work, lead to surgical intervention, including hysterectomy, and, ultimately, have a significant impact on our healthcare system. This program reflects upon current clinical practice guidelines issued by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, and provides essential information about the diagnosis and management of heavy menstrual bleeding. Comments and questions from the audience are strongly encouraged and will be addressed throughout the presentation.
This episode is part of a live CME web series developed for Canadian family physicians, running from March 14 to May 30, 2017. Interested in the rest of the series? Visit www.imedicus.ca.
